Profile

The Reverse Mentoring Practice (RMP) is a University of Nottingham Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences spin-out founded by Professor Stacy Johnson MBE. Established in 2021, RMP designs reverse mentoring programmes that challenge traditional power dynamics and drive meaningful organisational change. Its model connects senior leaders with junior staff and students – including those from BAME backgrounds – to surface lived experiences, strengthen inclusion and improve organisational culture across the NHS and universities.

RMP has partnered with over 90 organisations globally, including NHS Integrated Care Systems, the Wellcome Sanger Institute, UKRI and the OECD. Its evidence-based framework and EDI evaluation tools – developed through applied research –are helping shape policy, improve staff retention and embed more inclusive leadership practices.

Now transitioning to a scalable, data-driven platform, RMP is launching its Certified Reverse Mentoring Practitioner programme to enable organisations worldwide to deliver high-quality reverse mentoring with rigour and measurable impact.
